Welcome! After having completed a long, boring, yet informative semester of college, I have time to update the blog. There are a few new things that you should know about if you don’t already know. My official social networking page is now http://www.facebook.com/algeronics. A lot of goodies such as exclusive DLs and streamable previews are updated primarily on my facebook page. Also on facebook, you will easily have the ability to connect with me. The intial twitter (@algeronics) and myspace (/algeronics) usernames remain unchanged. However, as myspace plummets in terms of user-friendliness (or at least in my perception), I will not update it nearly as much I do my other two networks–facebook and twitter. If you’d like, add me as a friend anyhow . I will be launching an official website in 2011 that will include copious amounts of exclusive material! In addition, this blog will be transferred to the site so you can conveniently keep updated on my news. So be sure to check back here every once in a while to be informed about the initial launch and other things.
In other news, I am currently back in studio for the two-week duration of my winter break. I plan on putting together a mixtape and working on a few remixes. In the course last semester, I’d been working on a new single on and off which I will attempt to render as a preview/teaser for all to hear. I’m very excited about this one because this is the first track I recorded vocals in.
Until next time, be sure to fan me on facebook, follow me on twitter, and add me on myspace:
ALGERONICS was an electronic side-project formed in 2006 by me when I was 14 years old. The name comes from the first half of Algernon (my middle name) and the second half of electronics. It was influenced by the deeper ambient electronica sound similar to artists such as Lali Puna, Dntel, Arthur & Yu, dublab, etc. In early 2007, the project was abandoned when I was lost in musical direction. Later that year, I experimented on various electronic styles and was finally introduced to sampling. ALGERONICS was then used as a named for unreleased/unfinished tracks or previews for upcoming tracks for my more serious projects. By the end of 2007, I found a growing interest for the arising epidemic of the electronic dance scene. In particular, I found myself becoming addicted to the French-Electro scene which included new influences like Daft Punk, Surkin, Teenage Bad girl, Justice, Para One, Sebastian, tacteel, Teki Latex etc. In 2008, ALGERONICS officially became the name of my dance project. I started experimenting with this new style mainly producing original tracks at a rapid pace. At this time, I was beginning to learn more about DJing as well. In 2009 was when I started to get serious with the project. I was then introduced to music blogs and in January I started to produce unofficial remixes for songs I felt like remixing and continued on with original compositions. In just six months of serious production, I was able to catch the attention of music bloggers and quickly got on some of the major blogs. One of the more popular bootlegs I worked on was Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker" which was featured on hype machine's popular music.

Assuming that you have your songs copyrighted, could I get permission from you to use your remix of the song “Pony Pony Run Run” in an official contest?
I would like to make a music video with it. [:
Unless it’s not copyrighted, which would make everything a lot easier…
Either way, just e-mail me at cdasquith@hotmail.com
